Natural Products and Medicinal

 

I. RESEARCH AREAS

- Isolation, characterization, and structural elucidation of secondary metabolites from natural sources, including: medicinal plants, marine and animals;

- Drug discovery and development;

- Isolation of marker compounds for drug standardization;

- Bioactivity-focused  semisynthesis and SAR studies in drug discovery;

- Screening of extracts/compounds for biological activities such as cytotoxicity, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, xanthine oxidase, α-glucosidase, tyrosinase, acetylcholinesterase, lipase,… inhibitory activities;

- Development of bioassay methods; analytical techniques for herbal drug analysis;

- Development of products containing natural substances in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals,…
